Daja is a three year old (since I got her back in 2003) red and white female American Pit Bull Terrier.
Daja was found on the side of the road, and was almost hit by the person who picked her up. When the driver realized that what she almost hit was a dog (she thought she was trash at first) she turned around to see if she was okay. When she opened her door, Daja jumped up into the driver’s car and laid down, ready for a ride. When Daja jumped into the car, the driver realized that Daja was bleeding and thought that someone’s car had hit her, so she rushed Daja to a nearby vet. It was found that Daja had not been hit by a car, but actually had a problem
due to being overbred, which is probably why she was running the streets: her “owner” could no longer make money off of her because she could no longer produce puppies, and they most likely dumped her since she was of no use to them.
Daja was spayed and has made a full recovery: there are no lasting health conditions (the condition was cleared when Daja was spayed). She was also 30lbs underweight, but has gained a significant amount of weight, and looks fabulous in her new self. She is a thankful girl who loves everyone, and everything: toys, treats, pillows, blankets…anything that she has been deprived of in her previous puppy-making days. she adores children, and would be a wonderful child’s companion, as she has a very gentle, calm disposition. She enjoys her toys, but mostly enjoys cuddling on the couch getting ears scratched and belly rubbed.
