Not really but at the same time yes. This site used to have a purpose but it never lived up to it. The original purpose of this site was to be a central place that my family and friends can go to and find out what I’m up to. The job that I do doesn’t exactly afford me the time to go home that often and so I can go months even a year or so without going home.

Technology has also changed drastically since I started this site. Blogging is more for people that have the time to write long posts about a topic. I live a fast paced life in the military so by the time I have some time to write anything, it usually ends up being alot and I’m not for writing a long ass post and I’m sure you’re not for reading one either.

Now a days I use other services that allow me to post information at a moments notice and via my phone. I used Flickr for when I want to post a picture and can do it anytime via my phone. A picture is worth a thousand words right? I also use Twitter in order to post short, little blurbs about what I’m doing. With Twitter its easier for me to post something, anything on a whim via my phone. It’s a bit easier and logical to post several Tweets during the day instead of a bunch of one liner blog posts.

Instead of writing this blog off as dead, I think I will just repurpose it into something else. Instead of writing long posts or daily posts, I think I’ll just make it into a Twitter and Flickr aggregator with my Tweets and Flickr pictures. And maybe I’ll write a blog post once a week or when a Tweet isn’t enough for me to convey my message. And for those that don’t know what Twitter and Flickr is…well just Google it and see for yourself. I do have a MySpace account but MySpace is just to ugly and disorganized for me to get into it full time.

For those of you that do know what Twitter and Flickr is, you can find my Flickr on the right and my Twitter feed is “twitter.com/ustommymc”. I need to get back to work now before someone comes looking for me. Peace!!
