USTommyMC

Back in 1997 I got on the Internet for the first time via AOL. This was during the summer prior to me leaving for Marine Corps Basic Training. I knew that I needed an online alias and somehow came up with USTommyMC. I can’t believe that it will almost be a decade with that screen name. I know some people change their screen name like they change their underwear but I’ve managed to keep USTommyMC since its creation.

Over the last 9 years I went from been a chataholic to hardly chatting at all anymore. I remember I used to somehow manage to have almost a dozen chats at one time. Now I will hardly chat with anyone especially someone I don’t know. I have a few close friends that I keep in touch with online but I can count those on one hand. Just like talking on the phone I can’t really keep up a chat unless there is a reason behind it. I can’t just chat “for the hell of it” anymore.

Recently I decided to do a complete overall of my buddy lists across all the major IM clients. Instead of trying to remember who was who I decided to just delete everyone and start from scratch. So if you are one of those folks that has me on your buddy list, chances are that I don’t have you on mine anymore. Its not because I don’t like you anymore but because its easier to add you one by one. If you see me online, drop me a line so that I can add you back. If I have chatted with you recently then you are probably already back on my list.
